We proudly announce the beta release of our IP reputation platform, KweliGuard, launched on November 1st, 2023. The platform has exceeded expectations by surpassing 3,800 active users globally within just four months, demonstrating its rapid adoption, especially in Kenya, the United States.
KweliGuard is poised to play a pivotal role in helping ArifaLab achieve its mission of combating the rising incidents of social engineering attacks, specifically phishing and smishing. With its robust search and scoring mechanism, meticulously evaluating URLs based on 31 criteria to distinguish between malicious and legitimate links, KweliGuard empowers users to navigate the online landscape securely.
"We are thrilled to see such overwhelming user growth in such a short period," remarked Isaac Muendo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at ArifaLab. "Surpassing our goal of 2,000 active users set for four months underscores the KweliGuard's relevance and the trust and responsibility placed in our services."
Feedback from beta participants has been instrumental in shaping future enhancements, including recommendations for improving website security, a mechanism for reporting malicious links, and the development of mobile and desktop add-ons for seamless automatic link scanning and blocking.
In alignment with our commitment to continuous improvement, the KweliGuard platform is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades. As a result, access through www.kweliguard.net is temporarily unavailable. Efforts are underway to ensure optimal platform performance, including addressing server capacity challenges, given its resource-intensive nature.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to our growing community of beta testers for their invaluable contributions," added Isaac Muendo. "Their feedback has been pivotal in our journey towards improving online security."
Additionally, we have taken note of some bugs in the current beta, such as the positive ranking of website domains that do not exist. Rest assured; these issues will be resolved in the next release.
Looking ahead, ArifaLab remains dedicated to releasing the official version later this year, with anticipated enhancements and new features inspired by the diverse perspectives of users across the globe.
